AllianceBernstein Names Chief Financial Officer

AllianceBernstein has appointed John Weisenseel as chief financial officer, with immediate effect.

Edward Farrell, who has served as interim chief financial officer since February last year, will now return full-time to his responsibilities as corporate controller and chief accounting officer, the firm said.

In his new role, Weisenseel will lead all global finance and reporting functions, reporting to chief operating officer, James Gingrich.

Weisenseel joins the firm from The McGraw-Hill Companies, where he was most recently senior vice president and chief financial officer of Standard & Poor's.

Prior to S&P’s, Weisenseel was McGraw-Hill's senior vice president and corporate treasurer. He has also served as vice president and corporate treasurer for Barnes & Noble, as well as in numerous derivatives trading and financial positions at Citigroup.
